Privacy Notice
The privacy of institutions and users is important to the Restena Foundation. We collect and process personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection laws and regulations in force. Personal data is processed for the strict execution of legitimate purposes.
Personal data in our understanding is any information that can identify you, both directly and indirectly. The Restena Foundation collects certain personal data needed in order to fulfil its aims and assignments.
Processing of personal data refers to collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
The Restena Foundation is considered the data controller, the personal data processing entity. The collected personal data is not passed on to any commercial company or any other organisation outside the Restena Foundation except in specific cases for accessing external services, but reduced to a minimum (e.g. for Sectigo certificates). Only in the scope of a legal investigation, this privacy notice will not strictly apply.
In order to access the RESTENA services, the following data will be collected and processed: name, surname, postal address, email address, institution, and social security number. This data is required such that the Restena Foundation may fulfil its assignments and send information by post and e-mail.
The more, while using the RESTENA services, we collect server logs, including IP addresses, user-agents, URLs, date and time logs. These logs are collected in a legitimate interest to enable the technical and functional management of the services, and deleted after 6 months. In case of incidents, the RESTENA-CSIRT service will use these data logs to analyze the disruption to first inform you and help you in its resolution and second, to ensure the ongoing integrity and operational security of its own infrastructure.
The data, neither the logs, will not be used for any commercial reason or to build behavioural profiles. While surfing the website, no cookies or analytic components may be used.
Personal data will not be kept for a longer time period as necessary, respectively longer as necessary to fulfil its purpose (for example subscription to a service) for which this personal data was collected. However, data may be stored longer if required by law.
After expiration of retention periods, personal data will be erased and associated physical documents (e.g. paper contracts) will be destroyed.
When reporting an incident via the RESTENA-CSIRT report form, the contact details and reported logs will be processed for incident response and management. In that case, personal data is collected for the public interest, to handle security incidents, but will not be shared with any third party.
Your data can also be collected and processed in the framework of a registration and participation at an event via a web-form on the website. The categories of data collected are contact details (such name, surname and email address). The personal data is only processed to the extent necessary for the organization of the event and confirming your participation via email. Your participation at an event is on a voluntary basis and you can withdraw your consent at any time. However, if you withdraw your consent before an event you will have to register in the morning of the event and participation cannot be ensured.
In accordance with current legislation you have certain rights, including in particular the right to access information relating to you, the right to rectification or deletion of inaccurate information, portability of personal data and the right of processing restriction or objection to the processing. In order to keep your personal data secure, appropriate organizational, physical and technical precautions to prevent unauthorized access and use of your personal data have been set up. If you observe any potential information leaks or others, please contact admin@restena.lu.
